Detailed Engineering of the AGV-Integrated Hydraulic Goods Lift
The structural elements of the AGV-Integrated Hydraulic Goods Lift are engineered using heavy-wall structural carbon steel. The main carriage is fabricated from 100504mm rectangular steel tubing, while the platform deck is reinforced with a 120604mm steel framework. The cargo floor is constructed of a 4mm checkered plate to withstand continuous wheel abrasion from AGVs. Utilizing a 125H Steel Guide Rail Goods Lift pillar configuration ensures outstanding lateral stability under peak loading. The lifting mechanism is powered by dual 70-50mm cylinders driven by a 3kW power unit, creating a powerful 2-Ton Hydraulic Cargo Elevator layout. Safe operation is monitored by an Automatic Interlock Hydraulic Elevator unit linked to the floor’s rapid door systems.
To prevent environmental contamination and optimize cycle times, a High-Speed Spiral Shutter Door Lift was installed at each floor landing. These doors open and close rapidly via a floor-to-door interlocking mechanism, preventing AGVs from entering the shaft prematurely. The AGV-Integrated Hydraulic Goods Lift control cabinet integrates an industrial PLC with customized communication interfaces to link with the factory FMS (Fleet Management System). The carriage functions as a Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor with Cabin unit, keeping the cargo completely enclosed on three sides with a robust steel top ceiling. This 4-Column Hydraulic Guide Rail Lift design guarantees that even if an AGV experiences an onboard malfunction, the surrounding shaft remains safe from damage.
The AGV-Integrated Hydraulic Goods Lift leveling sensor array uses high-accuracy photoelectric sensors coupled with proximity switches. When the lift floor reaches alignment, an electro-hydraulic safety pin system can be engaged optionally to guarantee zero-drift loading. This physical leveling mechanism is highly integrated with the automatic docking interface protocol. The AGV communicates directly via digital input/output (I/O) or Wi-Fi to request cabin floor docking. Once verified, the door control activates the rapid rollup doors. Our engineering analysis shows that the combined deflection of the 120604mm deck tubes under a 2000 kg eccentric wheel load remains under 1.2mm, far exceeding industry standards for automated material handling.
To protect downstream factory operations from catastrophic mechanical failure, we integrated robust safety hardware into the hoist structure. Four heavy-duty safety gears are mounted directly to the car frame, calibrated to bite into the 125H Steel Guide Rail Goods Lift columns if tension on any of the four 1244 leaf chains drops below the tension threshold. Hydraulic rupture valves are directly threaded into the cylinder ports of the dual-cylinder setup to prevent sudden rapid descent in the event of an oil line breach. This comprehensive approach is typical of our high-standard industrial systems, ensuring safe, continuous factory throughput.
From a pure fluid power perspective, the lifting capacity is governed by Pascal’s law. For a rated load of 2000 kg, combined with a dead weight of approximately 1500 kg (including the 1800x2000x2200mm cabin, structural steel, and door assemblies), the total mass to be lifted is 3500 kg. Applying a 2:1 speed ratio means that the actual force required from the cylinders is doubled. Thus, the hydraulic cylinders must exert a combined force equivalent to 7000 kg (approximately 68.6 kN) under static conditions. To handle dynamic starting loads and potential friction along the H-beams, a safety multiplier of 1.4 is applied, yielding a design force of 96 kN.
By utilizing dual 70-50mm bore-to-rod cylinders, we can calculate the effective piston area. The bore diameter of 70mm provides a total cross-sectional area of approximately 38.48 square centimeters per cylinder. With two cylinders operating in parallel, the total lift area is 76.96 square centimeters. Under a maximum operating pressure of 14 MPa, the system is capable of generating a lifting force of 107.7 kN, which provides a comfortable safety margin over our design force of 96 kN. The 3.0 kW motor is coupled to a high-pressure gear pump delivering a flow rate calibrated to achieve a vertical velocity of 0.15 meters per second, fully complying with national lift velocity regulations.
Structural Integrity and Deflection Calculations under Eccentric Loads
The guide rails are the primary structural members absorbing horizontal moments. We selected 125H Chinese National Standard steel columns, which provide a high moment of inertia along the bending axis. To analyze the worst-case scenario, finite element analysis (FEA) simulated a 2000 kg load positioned entirely on the outer edge of the 1800mm platform. This creates an eccentric moment of 18 kNm, forcing the carriage guide rollers to exert a horizontal reaction force on the H-beam flanges. The maximum allowable deflection of the steel columns is set at L/800, which translates to a maximum of 4.375mm over the 3500mm travel height.
Our FEA calculations show a maximum deflection of only 1.84mm under peak eccentric dynamic loading, leaving a massive safety factor. The carriage frame, welded from 120604mm and 100504mm rectangular structural tubing, undergoes negligible elastic twist (less than 0.05 degrees). This extreme rigidity is critical because any horizontal deflection of the guide rail would alter the alignment of the safety lock sensors, causing communication faults with the AGV fleet manager. By maintaining strict control over steel tolerances and welding quality, our structural design prevents operational faults.
