Challenge
Executing high-speed, continuous vertical logistics within an active precision powersports assembly plant presented several strict mechanical and civil challenges for our team:
-
Abrasive Factory Dust and Hydraulic Exclusion: The client’s strict assembly guidelines prohibited hydraulic lifts near cleanroom boundaries due to the risk of fluid leaks contaminating vehicle components. Therefore, standard scissor lift options, such as a traditional fixed scissor lift , were completely ruled out.
-
Structural Concrete Floor Restrictions: The concrete floor of the newly constructed assembly hall incorporates an active sub-floor hydronic heating system. This made any pit excavation completely impossible, demanding a fully surface-mounted, pitless lift base with a ultra-low self-height of only 635 mm635 mm
(Source: Technical Spec Sheet).
-
High-Frequency Duty Cycle and Corrosive Waste Friction: The VRC must operate continuously over a 10-hour single-shift, handling a high-capacity throughput of over 20 heavy pallets per hour (Source: FAT Testing Records). Additionally, the vertical lift platform had to resist chemical corrosion from wet organic industrial waste and grease.
Solution
We bypassed hydraulic systems entirely and engineered a fully automated, high-speed mechanical vertical lift system driven by a high-torque electric motor and integrated automation logic.
-
Three-Stage Integrated 304 Stainless Steel Roller Lines: We integrated three automated unpowered roller conveyor modules directly into the system: one inside the elevator cage (1.3×1.6 m1.3×1.6 m), one at the 1F ground-floor entrance (1.3×3.0 m1.3×3.0 m), and one at the 2F mezzanine discharge point (1.3×1.5 m1.3×1.5 m) . To prevent rust and chemical corrosion from wet industrial waste, every roller is manufactured from premium 304 stainless steel
-
High-Speed Chain-Driven Kinematics: The elevator is driven by a roof-mounted 7.5 kW Guomao variable frequency drive (VFD) motor coupled to a heavy-duty 20A-1 double-strand roller chain and sprocket system . This mechanical layout achieves a lifting speed of 30 meters per minute , allowing fast, smooth vertical movement.
-
Siemens PLC Automation & Rapid Safety Doors: The entire electrical logic is managed via an IP55-rated central cabinet utilizing a Siemens PLC paired with a 10-inch Kunlun Tongtai HMI touch screen. To isolate the shaft, we enclosed the structure in an orange-painted (ED6D00) diamond wire mesh, fitted with automatic PVC rapid roll-up safety doors at each landing. These doors only open when the lift cage is securely leveled, complying with functional safety standard ISO 13849-1 .
