This custom-engineered Heavy Duty Scissor Lift (Model SJG25-1.8) has been deployed at the Zoomlion Smart Industrial City Aerial Work Machinery Park to handle high-frequency finished vehicle dispatching and logistics. As a world-leading construction machinery manufacturer, Zoomlion requires seamless, ultra-stable transit interfaces to load massive, high-tonnage telescopic and articulated boom lifts onto transport trailers.

During peak logistical phases, our platforms must elevate heavy industrial vehicles weighing up to 19.7 tons (43,431 lbs) to align perfectly with trailer beds. The machinery park operates on a strict 10-hour single-shift system, requiring each of our two installed loading platforms to handle a continuous flow of 70 vehicles per day.

To withstand these harsh, high-impact localized wheel loads, we engineered a pit-mounted flush lift platform that interfaces seamlessly with the plant’s existing concrete foundation. The entire structural and hydraulic layout is certified in strict accordance with European EN 1570-1  safety requirements.

Challenge & Solution

Challenge

The primary structural challenge of dispatching heavy boom lifts lies in the extreme concentrated wheel loads. When a 19.7-ton vehicle drives onto the platform, its massive weight is not distributed evenly; instead, it is concentrated on four heavy-duty off-road tires. Standard stationary scissor lift  tables are prone to deck warping and linkage twisting under such intense local point loads.

To guarantee zero structural deformation, our R&D team performed exhaustive Finite Element Analysis (FEA). We constructed the upper deck using a thick, solid 8mm anti-slip checkered steel plate reinforced by an engineered matrix of J2001006 mm structural channel steel and 18mm high-tensile steel rib plates underneath.

The heavy-duty scissor linkage arms are cut from thick, solid manganese steel plates to resist dynamic bending moments. This reinforced design limits local deflection to less than 1/1000th of the platform’s span, ensuring that our heavy duty scissor lift platform  remains perfectly level during vehicle transit, protecting both the vehicle’s drive systems and our mechanical structural linkages.

Solution

Because our platforms are installed directly into excavated sub-floor pits to maintain a flush factory-floor workspace, civil integration was a critical engineering phase. We designed a deep-anchored structural steel frame that perfectly matches the 5 tons/m² concrete foundation of the machinery park. To ensure total workplace safety, the pit boundaries are fully enclosed with structural protective safety steel mesh, preventing operators from accessing the hazardous scissor mechanics during operation.

The hydraulic system utilizes multi-stage cylinders paired with built-in pipeline explosion-proof safety valves. In the highly unlikely event of a high-pressure hose rupture, these safety valves instantly lock the hydraulic fluid in place, preventing the 25-ton platform from sudden descent, complying with ISO 12100  machinery safety standards.

The electrical logic is managed via a heavy-duty external control console, equipped with phase-loss protection and a thermal overload relay to prevent pump motor damage under high-frequency logistics cycles.
